Culebra is about 17 nautical miles from Fajardo. By private yacht it takes 45–60 minutes depending on boat speed and sea conditions. Faster sport boats like the Wellcraft or Grady White make the crossing quickly.
How many hours should we book for Culebra? +
We strongly recommend 8 hours for Culebra. The crossing is ~1 hour each way, so a 6h charter gives you 4 hours at the island and an 8h gives you 5–6 hours. That's enough time for Flamenco Beach, snorkeling at Carlos Rosario, lunch on the boat, and a relaxed return trip.
